Gutter cleaning

Gutters cleared by hand, downspouts checked for flow, and debris bagged and removed so water goes where it should.

Gutters that overflow can send water down siding, into foundations and across walkways where it freezes. Keeping them clear is one of the simplest ways to protect a building.

We clean gutters by hand, check that downspouts are draining, and clean up after ourselves.

What's included

  • Hand removal of leaves, needles, moss and sediment from all accessible gutters.
  • Flow check on downspouts, with clearing of blockages where they can be reached from the top or bottom.
  • Debris bagged and removed, or left in an agreed spot for your compost.
  • A quick note of anything we see along the way, such as loose hangers, sagging runs or leaking joints.

Overflow prevention

Most overflows come from a blocked outlet or downspout rather than a full gutter. We pay particular attention to outlets, elbows and the first few feet of each downspout.

If a downspout is blocked underground, in a perimeter drain or a buried leader, it may need a drainage contractor. We'll tell you if that's what we find.

Seasonal timing

Properties with deciduous trees usually benefit from a clean after the leaves drop in autumn. Properties under conifers shed needles and cones year-round and may need attention more often.

Cleaning before the wettest and coldest months helps reduce overflow and ice build-up at the eaves.

Autumn is our busiest season and spots fill quickly. Book before the heavy rain and the first freeze, not after the first overflow.

Residential, strata and commercial

We clean gutters on single-family homes, townhouse and strata complexes, and small commercial buildings. For strata and commercial properties we can work to a scheduled maintenance plan and coordinate access with property managers.

Gutter guards, gutter repairs and new gutter installation are not part of this service.

FAQ

Gutter cleaning questions

How often should gutters be cleaned?

At least once a year for most homes, usually in autumn. Properties close to tall trees, especially conifers, may need two or more cleanings a year.

Do you clean the downspouts too?

Yes. We check each downspout for flow and clear blockages we can reach. Blockages in underground drains may need a drainage specialist.

Do I need to be home?

Not usually, as long as we can reach the gutters and any gates are unlocked. We'll confirm access details when we book.

Can you repair or install gutters?

No. We clean and check gutters and will point out problems, but repairs and installation are best handled by a gutter contractor.
