Townhome gutters in Cheakamus Crossing
Built as the athletes' village for 2010 and now a resident neighbourhood, Cheakamus Crossing is full of townhomes that share rooflines, and gutters.

This story describes a typical situation we see in Whistler, not one specific customer.
The situation
An owner in a Cheakamus Crossing townhome row noticed water overflowing at the corner of their unit, but the gutter that was overflowing ran along their neighbour's roof too. The real blockage was two units down, at a shared downspout.
Cleaning one unit's section wouldn't fix it.
Shared rooflines, shared gutters
In townhome rows, gutters often run continuously across several units and drain to shared downspouts. A blockage anywhere along the run affects everyone upstream of it.
That's why strata councils often get better results cleaning a whole building or row at once.
How we approach it
- Where possible, we clean the full run, working with the strata or with neighbours who agree to share the visit.
- Gutters are cleared by hand and every downspout flow-tested, especially the shared ones.
- In Whistler, we schedule this for early fall, before snow buries the gutters for the winter.
What to expect
Water that drains properly along the whole row, and a short note to the strata about any section or downspout that needs repair.
Questions we hear
Can you clean just my unit?
Yes, but if the blockage is elsewhere on a shared run, the problem may continue. We'll explain what we find.
Do you work with strata councils?
Yes. Cleaning a whole building or row at once is usually the most effective option.
