The first window clean on a new Tiyata home
New windows aren't clean windows. After construction, glass is often covered in dust, stickers, paint flecks and concrete splatter.

This story describes a typical situation we see in Pemberton, not one specific customer.
The situation
A family moved into a brand-new home in Tiyata and found the windows anything but new-looking: manufacturer stickers still on, paint specks around the edges, dust baked on from months of construction next door, and grey splatter on the lower panes from a concrete pour.
They'd tried cleaning one window themselves and were worried they'd scratched it.
Why post-construction glass needs care
Construction debris can include grit, dried concrete and paint, which scratch glass if they're dragged across it with a cloth or the wrong scraper.
Some modern glass has coatings or tempered surfaces that need particular care with blades.
How we approach it
- Glass is thoroughly wetted first to loosen grit, so nothing is dragged across the surface dry.
- Stickers and adhesive are removed with the right solvent, and paint or concrete flecks lifted carefully with blades suited to the glass, used flat and wet.
- Frames, tracks and sills are cleaned of construction dust, which otherwise keeps blowing back onto the glass.
- Any scratches that were already there are pointed out before we start.
What to expect
Windows that look like new windows should. In a neighbourhood that's still being built, a follow-up clean once nearby construction finishes is often worth it.
Questions we hear
Can you remove paint and stickers without scratching?
Yes, with the right technique and plenty of water. We check the glass type first.
Should I wait until construction nearby is finished?
You can, but a first clean on move-in and a lighter one once the street settles down is a good approach.
