Dust, pollen and a Mount Currie view in Sunstone
Homes in Sunstone are built to look at Mount Currie. Pemberton's dry summers and farm-country pollen make that view hazy faster than you'd think.

This story describes a typical situation we see in Pemberton, not one specific customer.
The situation
A newer home in Sunstone has large windows and a glass-railed deck facing Mount Currie. By midsummer the windows have a dusty film, the screens are grey, and every rain shower leaves spotty streaks on the glass.
The owners had been hosing the windows down themselves, which only seemed to make the spots worse.
What's happening
Pemberton's summers are typically warmer and drier than on the coast, and there's plenty of fine dust from roads, construction and the surrounding fields. Spring adds pollen.
Tap water often leaves mineral spots as it dries, and a hose doesn't remove the film; it just moves it around.
How we approach it
- Exterior windows are scrubbed and rinsed with purified water from a water-fed pole, which dries without spots.
- Screen cleaning is an optional add-on worth booking here, because dusty screens put dust straight back on clean glass every time the wind blows.
- The glass railings are cleaned on both sides by hand, and interior windows are cleaned at the same visit.
When to book in Pemberton
Late spring after pollen season, and again in early fall after the dry summer, keeps most Pemberton homes looking their best.
Questions we hear
Should I have my screens cleaned too?
In Pemberton, usually yes. Dirty screens re-dust clean windows quickly.
Why does my hose leave spots?
Tap water contains minerals that are left behind as it dries. Purified water doesn't leave them.
