Spring clean for a Sunstone driveway and patio
Winter in Pemberton leaves its mark on hard surfaces: sand, salt, tire marks and a slick of green in the shady corners.

This story describes a typical situation we see in Pemberton, not one specific customer.
The situation
A newer home in Sunstone has an exposed-aggregate driveway and a large paver patio facing Mount Currie. After the winter, the driveway was dusty and streaked with tire marks, and the patio had moss creeping in along the shaded edge by the house.
The owners wanted it all looking new again before the first barbecue of the year.
Exposed aggregate and pavers
Exposed aggregate has small stones set into the surface. Too much pressure can loosen stones, so it's cleaned at a setting that lifts dirt without disturbing the finish.
Pavers lose some joint sand during cleaning, which may need topping up afterwards.
How we approach it
- Loose grit is swept off first, then the driveway is cleaned evenly with a rotary surface cleaner.
- Tire marks and stains are pre-treated; most lift well, though some may only lighten.
- Moss is cleared from the patio joints and the surface rinsed, with advice on re-sanding.
- Rinse water is kept away from planted areas.
Timing in Pemberton
Mid to late spring, once overnight frosts have finished, so surfaces dry properly and the patio's ready for summer.
Questions we hear
Will pressure washing damage exposed aggregate?
Not when the pressure is set correctly. We adjust it to lift dirt without loosening the stones.
Can you seal my driveway after cleaning?
Sealing is a separate service. We'll talk it through if you're interested.
